Moonrise December 30, 2020
Nature has a way of making us stop and pay attention. It cures whatcails you. Last night’s moonrise accomplished that. In 2021, let’s allow that even more.

For all the ups and downs this year, 2020 at least brought us a bonus 13th Full Moon, the Cold Moon. Always something to look forward to.
What will you look forward to in the new year?
Generally we focus on the most dazzling overlooking some of the most talented, most interesting, most complete and long-lasting aspects of a moment.
What detail or person are you overlooking?
Have you ever noticed that first moment of perception is the clearest? When you see the sunrise or sunset, first walk into a beautiful garden, you are splashed by spray from a waterfall. There is joy and delight in that moment. But we tend not to stay long. We start wondering about the time, or the weather, our chores for the day. Our moment fades away. The clear perception of life at its best slips.
In the next few days, linger in that clear perception especially with your loved ones.
If you know.the basic shape of the constellation Orion, you should be able to make it out in these startrails. We forget sometimes how crystal clear living in now is. The past is a smear of memories. Future not quite available for view.
Make every single day this week your single focus.
These meteors roared through Earth’s atmosphere and blazed for just a second. They waited eons to do so. They reached their full potential at the perfect moment. Together, some seem brighter but in their individual moment they were bright enough to be noticed.
This season blaze bright.
Spirit moves through the land like a wind through the trees. It wears down the mountains and sits in a cold mountain lake. It surrounds us. We sense it in every way. It is nothing and everything and holds us up in the toughest of times.
Make a place for Spirit. How will it move with you today?
I struggled with dream self last night. He clearly thinks I’m doing this wrong; that I’m an imposter. My waking self is trying to cut him some slack. What was nice is that dream self literally left a door open when he left (it was actually a window) offering a different path or a compromise. Usually I’m pretty centered day and night. The perfect thing to meditate on today.
Are you centered?
A Geminid, and a few other meteors, streak through a 650 image stack Sunday night. The Geminids continue to dazzle.
Clouds are bumpy on top but they show remarkable complexity below as well. In the daytime we don’t notice but as the sun sets and we get light at a different angle, the swirls, curls and swirls come to life.
Watch the world open up by changing your angle of perception.
This fenceposts looks like a staff that a mighty magicuser would weild. Full of potential and at the ready. I’ve been pondering this photo for awhile. I’m drawn to its imperfections. It’s like a dream. Trying to focus on an idea that’s not quite there, not quite realized but within a larget context. Reaching for the stars but having an unclear quest ahead. This is the journey.
How is your journey today?
