Moonrise December 30, 2020

Nature has a way of making us stop and pay attention. It cures whatcails you. Last night’s moonrise accomplished that. In 2021, let’s allow that even more.

Generally we focus on the most dazzling overlooking some of the most talented, most interesting, most complete and long-lasting aspects of a moment.
What detail or person are you overlooking?

Have you ever noticed that first moment of perception is the clearest? When you see the sunrise or sunset, first walk into a beautiful garden, you are splashed by spray from a waterfall. There is joy and delight in that moment. But we tend not to stay long. We start wondering about the time, or the weather, our chores for the day. Our moment fades away. The clear perception of life at its best slips.
In the next few days, linger in that clear perception especially with your loved ones.

If you know.the basic shape of the constellation Orion, you should be able to make it out in these startrails. We forget sometimes how crystal clear living in now is. The past is a smear of memories. Future not quite available for view.
Make every single day this week your single focus.

These meteors roared through Earth’s atmosphere and blazed for just a second. They waited eons to do so. They reached their full potential at the perfect moment. Together, some seem brighter but in their individual moment they were bright enough to be noticed.
This season blaze bright.

Spirit moves through the land like a wind through the trees. It wears down the mountains and sits in a cold mountain lake. It surrounds us. We sense it in every way. It is nothing and everything and holds us up in the toughest of times.
Make a place for Spirit. How will it move with you today?

Even under a full moon the stars are shining. No surprise there. More plane trails in and out of DIA Sunday Nov 29.

Every time I drive down this path I enter the realm of journey. So many places to discover and explore. Even the places I know well still keep their secrets. All places change, each visit different, no matter how much we want them to stay the same. I like coming back to hear the old stories again and listen for new ones.
Are you listening to listening for whispers of change?

If we could look through a crystal ball and everything were laid out plain to see im not sure we’d be that excited. Most times, we can set the mood of the day. We can set the tone to meet the task. Today, choose how to approach the day.
What draws me most to this picture is the rich fall colors that show behind the lensball. We set the mood and tone of our life but I doubt we’d be so present with that action if we knew all the things that will happen and in their order. Each day we get to choose, a good tone or down tone. And I know we respond to that metacognition. If I believe and strive for the good day and set the tone so all can feel it then I cannot fail. All those external things have no effect.

My daughter and my wife tell me often that I wonder; with more questions than I really care to know the answer of. Curious minds create interesting thoughts. I wonder if this is true of you?
Today wonder often.
This is one of my favorite image edits. And it reminded me of a conversation that we had about how I approach the world. With wonder. I ask that question so often. I think it’s my driving force. I may not care to know but just to wonder; the freedom of wondering. I said curious minds create curious thoughts. And I wonder if I’m alone. I would really like to know that it’s not the case. Thankfully, I’m surrounded with people who wonder more too.
